There are many places near Afantou beach, really worth seeing and visiting. We would recommend:

Beaches

Faliraki (popular, crowded, with lots of beach bars)

Kolympia (beautiful bay, with many hotels)

Antony Queen (small bay, in light blue waters, suitable for yacht anchoring or diving)

Tsampika (sandy beach, ecologically preserved)

Sight seeing

Little church of Panagia Tsampika. Located  between Kolympia bay and Tsampika beach, on the top of the tall rock (approximately 400 stair steps), with breathtaking view.

Epta Piges (Seven Springs). Landscape full of plants and trees. The spring waters formulate a small lake and a waterfall.

Valley of Butterflies. Little valley where millions of colourful butterflies are coming to mate around end of spring.

Kallithea. Healing baths at sea side, built by Italians and recently renovated, located within a grove of pine  trees.
